USHAS experienced that children with developmental disabilities have two or more handicaps. By the time they come to our centre, the parents would have knocked various professionals door. We found that the traditional uni-professional evaluation was insufficient. We believe in interdisplinary team approach. The various professionals associated at our centre assess the child and family individually, and then meet as a team to compare data, review finds, and arrive at recommendation for and management.

This process has proved to us to be optimal for a child with developmental delay. Each team member has expertise in his or her discipline, and also has some familiarity with the other disciplines. All members of the team therefore, speak a common language. The transdisciplinary approach process encourages the development of a mutual exchange of knowledge, information and skills among the team members and tends to dissolve the rigid boundaries between disciplines, allowing professionals to share skills and expertise to maintain consistency in the child’s program. We are unique by having 19 therapies under one roof.
